Many digital apps have been designed to offer language learning in a way that is easy, gamified and highly accessible. This works in theory, but through research, we have found that many of these apps fail at helping users retain their target languages.

PROJECT GOALS

LangSocial aimed to be different. They thought "There has to be a way to help our users retain what they learn". So, the goal in designing this app was this: Users must be able to remember and communicate their target languages and build communities.

THE SOLUTION

Full language immersion! Languages aren't remembered through vocabulary exercises and memorisation tests, They're learned through experiences and novel exposure. LangSocial will create an ecosystem for making meaningful memories with language.

There are many people who want to learn languages but the language learning apps out their fail to keep them engaged, or they find their don't retain the information when in the real world.

We wanted a look and feel that felt human, warn tones, and pastel colours are not typical for app design, we wanted this social app to feel like a homey and safe community space.
