ABOUT THE PROJECT
Social OS was an interactive story game where you play as a teen navigating social anxiety in a future dystopian world where mental health is managed through brain chips.
As Nova, players explore the complex thought patterns of someone experiencing social anxiety through two brain chip AI's: SocialCue and SocialLite.
SocialCue, designed to be medicine for Nova, represents the negative thought processes that limit social presence in individuals experience the illness while SocialLite; represents exposure therapy.
In the end, SocialLite is deleted by the company as she poses a threat by offering healing. Healing being exposeure to what one fears; while SocialCue despite being good intentioned hold's Nova back by trying to prevent embarrassment.
The game highlights how Social anxiety operates showcasing and bringing awareness to how anxiety exists to protect but becomes overprotective to the point of stifleing the person who suffers from it.
